Information on
the Artist
Marina OSTROVSKAYA and
Dmitry USPENSKY
Husband and wife team; Highly regarded
artists in their home country and abroad as well as experienced breeders of Bull Terriers
and Russian Borzois.
Born in Moscow;
Graduated from the prestigious Moscow Art and Industry
Institute in 1974;
Both are full - time professional sculptors working at their own studios in Moscow; She
specializes mainly in dogs of different breeds in bronze, ranging from Bull Terriers and
Airedales to Afghans and Borzois;He does wild creatures in bronze and ceramics, including
bears and leopards.
Both artists, whose intuitive bond with animals is expressed with elegance, vigor and
unswerving attention to detail, have works in major Fine Art, Cultural and Scientific
Museums throughout Russia, including the Tretyakov State Art Gallery in Moscow, The State
Darwin Museum, The Pushkin State Museum in Moscow and in private collections in Europe,
the USA and Japan. In London their sculptures were shown at the Annual Fine Art Fairs in
the City, Chelsea and Kensington.
