Born in St. Petersburg in 1947;
Finished at the Art School attached to the Academy of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg and entered the Academy of Fine Arts in 1966, graduating in 1974; A Member of All-Russia Artists Union since 1982;
He took part in numerous Art Exhibitions and Art Book Fairs and Competitions in Russia and abroad and is a regular participant in touring Exhibition "Artists of Russia" in the UK.
In England he exhibited at the Alberty Gallery, Annual Kensington Antiques and Fine Art Fair, Chelsea Fine Art Fair in London; His rich kaleidoscopic oil paintings and delicate water-colours are in private collections and galleries in Europe and America.

B. Anikin has illustrated more than 150 books for children of different ages (5-7year-olds up to teens). His books can be found in nearly every household in Russia. The artist worked with famous Russian Literature Agencies, such as Fiction Literature, Literature for Children, Russian Writer and others, as well as with magazines (Bonfire, Neva-River, Aurora, etc).

Famous books illustrated by the artist include:

• "Moby Dick" by H. Melville - the book won him a special diploma in the All-Russia competition of Book artists;

• "Treasure Island" by R. Stevenson - the book won him a special diploma of the State Publishers Committee;

• "15-year Old Captain" by J. Verne;

• "Children of the Captain Grant" by J. Verne;

• "In the Jungle of the North" by J. Kerwood;

• "Sindbad the Sailor" from 1001 Nights;

• "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" by C. Lewis

Boris Anikin has received many awards from Russian Publishing Agencies.
He currently lives and works in the UK near Brighton.
