Information on the Artist Born
in 1960 in Belorussia; Light
colour and shape fascinated her from an early age; She would spend hours in the
fields and forests sketching the beautiful landscapes and flowers of her native
land. Such
was her desire to learn to express herself through the language of art that she
travelled 600 miles to Moscow and became a student at The
University of Graphical Design. She
completed her education and became a successful art teacher and book designer
with dozens of books to her name and with subjects as diverse as science
fiction, children’s books and historical novels. At
the same time she developed as a painter and comic cartoonist having held
exhibitions at prestigious galleries in Moscow and Minsk. Her contribution to
the artistic scene in Russia was recognised when she was accepted as a member of
the prestigious Moscow Artists’ Union. Since
1991 Eva has lived in Oxford and continues painting for many galleries around
the country. In
1992 she started exhibiting landscapes, still lifes and portrait paintings
through then Roy Miles Gallery (29, Bruton St, London). She
has also had solo exhibitions at the University of Oxford and University of
Birmingham, group exhibitions in Moscow, Minsk, Woodstock, Devon-Dartington Art
Galleries, CCA Galleries, Art ET Cetera, John Radcliff Hospital (Oxford), Garden
of Eden Art Gallery (London), the Alchemy Gallery (London), Oxfordshire Artweeks. Her works are in numerous private collections throughout England, and worldwide including Russia, USA, France, Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Portugal, Spain, Italy.
